"Someone once advised me to smell prospective doulas before making a decision because you are in such close physical contact with them. When I met with Linda, I gave her a hug and she smelled really good- clean and soapy. She passed the sniff test! After experiencing a traumatic emergency c-section with my first child, my husband and I hired Linda to help us with the delivery of our second. Although I hoped to labor at home, my daughter was over two weeks late and I had to be induced. I labored in the hospital, attached to monitors and IV drips, not the comfort of my home. Although things did not go the way I originally hoped, Linda helped me so much. She has a deep, calm voice and a warm, confident touch. She knew what I needed, when I needed it. And Linda knows her way around a hospital. She had no qualms ordering doctors around to ensure my birth plan was respected. When it mattered, I trusted her completely. With Linda's help, I was able to deliver my daughter naturally, with no pain medication. I cannot recommend her highly enough. She was born to do this work."
PS: My husband wants to add this: "When it's midnight, and you are all alone with your wife in a hospital room, and you've taken the classes, but you have no idea what to do, and there's no one there to help you make your wife comfortable, it is a great relief to all involved, when Linda shows up, performs origami on the hospital bed, makes your wife as comfortable as possible, and tells you to get some rest. I cannot recommend Linda highly enough... she taught me how to be a good partner and how to help my wife deliver our child and supported us both in every way she could. Linda rocks. Period."
